Today’s business pace requires Productivity. We have to optimize the potential and the performance of every member of the shrinking team. This workshop will provide the foundation for managers who need to get more productivity and ownership from team members. This one or two-day interactive workshop is presented on-site in groups of 12-16, and includes 90 days of Follow-up Coaching via Teleconference.
Benefits of adding Coaching to the Manager’s Tool Kit
Optimize potential
Most employees only operate at between 50 and 70 percent of their potential. Most work environments do not support and encourage individuals to contribute at their highest levels there just is not time. Coaching is a style of interacting that creates a supportive and fertile environment in which individuals choose to engage their maximum energies.
Buy-in and ownership
It’s one thing to assign goals and strategies. It’s another thing entirely to get someone to take ownership for those goals. It is the commitment to the goal that fires motivation, enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to persist through difficulties. The coaching process focuses on what is good for the team member (professional and personal gains) as well as what is good for the team (achieving the goals.)
Leadership evolves at all levels
As you develop stronger individuals on your team, you will invest less of your energy to sustain and increase high performance levels. Your job gets easier. Instead of managing only things and processes, you become the outstanding leader who develops leadership in others.
Accountability
Most initiatives do not fail on their merit -- they simply fade away. A coach holds the team accountable for actions and ensures that the agenda does not slip.
Confucius knew what he was talking about! We include group coaching following the program to support the integration of the new skills.
Every MVP deserves a coach -- and the best person in your organization to do the coaching is the MVP’s manager!
Who are the *Most Valuable Professionals on your team? What do they REALLY want and need to stay motivated and producing extraordinary results? How do you develop key competencies in these individuals? How do you enhance and support career development that retains key players?
One-on-one coaching following the Coaching Skills Workshop supports the integration of new skills after the manager gets back to his/her routine. Most people find that a 3-month or 6-month commitment to their own success makes a terrific impact.
Coaching is delivered in one 30-minute telephone coaching session per week for 3 weeks a month. The manager prepares his/her agenda for the call that addresses specific issues around using the coaching skills as well as issues around professional development.
Group coaching following the Coaching Skills Workshop supports the integration of new skills and provides a place for participants to leverage their learning through the experiences of peers. Again, a 3-month or 6-month commitment to the manager’s real world success makes a terrific impact.
Each group of 4-8 people meets for one hour, twice per month via telephone conference call. Participants bring specific issues around using the coaching skills as well as issues around professional development. The benefit of the group experience is that common themes can be worked on together through discussion and role play.
